Polymer matrices are the subject of intense interest for binding, storing, improving solubilization and transport, and targeting the delivery of small molecules for a number of applications including pharmaceutics, flavor and scent retention, agrochemicals, and personal care products. Interactions with the polymer matrix affect binding and subsequent release of the small molecules. The goal of this project is to understand the way molecular interactions determine the morphology, stability, and performance of polymer/small molecule dispersions to enable rational design of efficient, modular storage-delivery systems.
